TIDEWATER MODERN

New Construction & Historic Restoration | King William County, VA | 2025

Located in Virginia’s “Tidewater” region, this project rests on a 1,000 acre agricultural estate with sweeping river views. The clients approached the architect seeking design ideas for an aging manor and its sentimental great hall addition. After several iterations, the team settled on a design in which the home’s great hall would be preserved, the rest demolished, and new forward-thinking spaces would be added on. The threads weaving the new and old together are familiar materials, regional sensibilities, and high levels of craft and design.
